Unique Idea for Your Wedding Ceremony

July 1, 2009

Looking for something unique to add to your ceremony? How about asking your floral designer to design two detachable floral sprays into your bouquet.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, as you begin to make your way back up the aisle as husband and wife, stop at the pews where your mother and mother-in-law is seated. Remove the special flowers from your bouquet and present a flower to each of them, along with a kiss, before continuing up the aisle.

The mothers will love it. Make sure you have kleenex with you!

Tips on Wedding Registry

June 23, 2009

1) Give Yourself Time to Register: The earlier you register, the sooner you know that everything you want to available and on your registry. You should try to register together. By doing this you can eliminate a lot of items that you really don’t need. It’s easy to get carried away and register for 3 muffins tins and 2 different types of bottle opens.

2) Check Back Often: You should check back every so often to make sure that everything is OK with the registry. If you know your Aunt bought you the iron and ironing board for your bridal shower, make sure the store has crossed it off your registry. Make sure you understand and agree to the return policy.

3) Think of your Guests: Make sure the store offers a couple of different ways that your guests can purchase your registered items: online, phone or in-store. Register for a variety of different priced items so that your guests can make a comfortable decision on the amount spent on your gift.

Remember to have those thank you cards ready to go as you begin receiving your registered items. Keeping on top of this makes things less stressful for you in the long run.

What is a Bridal Registry?

June 17, 2009

A bridal registry is a service provided by retail stores to assist engaged couples in the communication of gift preferences to wedding guests. Selecting items from store stock, the couple lists desired items and files this list with the chosen merchant. The list is then made available to wedding guests, either by the couple’s family or the merchant.

Upon the purchase of a listed item, this gift registry is updated accordingly. In addition to providing valuable information for the buyer, the system helps prevent the receipt of duplicate or unwanted gifts, potentially saving time for both giver and recipient.

There are many different types of registries a bridal couple can have; kitchen, tools, honeymoon or charity to name a few.

Take the time to decide what you want and need, and start early you may need the time to make your selections.

Wedding Reception Tips

You will spend most of your planning time on reception and reception decorating, that’s where all the celebrating occurs. So where do you begin?

1) Select a theme. That’s the easiest way to achieve a elegantly decorating reception hall. When you choose a theme, it allows you to narrow down your decorating scheme. Themes could be a color you love, or repleting a place you have been too.

2) Evaluate your reception space. Take pictures of your reception hall, so that you can sit back and view what areas would be best for certain aspects of your wedding reception. Find out where the reception manager normally sets up the tables. Can you changes this or does it work well for you? Where can the band or DJ set their stage? Can you move anything around to better suit your needs?

3) Work within your budget. You don’t need to spend thousands of dollars to achieve an elegant look for your reception hall. Most reception venues will have a selection of decorating that can be used, some may even be FREE so ask! Start shopping early, for those cost steals.

4) You will want to get a lot of ideas for the decorations, so you’ll need to do some research. Bridal magazines and the internet are great areas to start your research.

5) Express your personality through the decorations. A truely successful wedding is a wedding that is an extension of the couple. This may help you select your theme!
